UNRECOGNIZED GENIUS

The hidden malady of our times...

  Many times, as I travel in different countries, cultures, and places, people as me: "why did you create Global Health Centers (GHC)? What is GHC, what does it really try to accomplish, and why did you create it?" Obviously, there are many answers to these fundamental questions, answers that vary according to the people and places that generate them, and that grow and unfold as GHC grows, learns, and seeks to be of service to very different types of people in very different types of situations and with different types of problems. As you already know, ultimately, Reality and Truth are functions of our level of consciousness and being so that changing one, we also change the other.

 A very important and evoking answer to these questions could be the following: GHC seeks to uncover lost treasures and significant breakthroughs that are simple, natural, affordable, and that do not "harm the patient", which was Hippocrates' first prerequisite. Obviously, no approach, suggestion, or remedy can heal everyone! Health, illnesses, and healing are very complex questions with many variables that are involved. Each person also has a personal destiny to live and experience which may entail dying from a certain illness, but with peace, serenity, and acceptance in their heart, which comes from truly understanding themselves, God's will, and why they are ill. This being said as a preamble, here is what I want to tell you in this article.

 95% to 98% of what we find, today, both on the allopathic (chemical) and alternative (natural) markets is no worth very much or of high quality. But, it is also possible to find hidden or emerging "treasures" that can be very precious and of concrete and valuable help to all. One of these is to find, identify, and be able to point out the real genius of a person, or what that person has come to do in this world which is also God's will for that person.

 Already the ancient Greeks spoke of the "daemon" of a person and of the importance of discovering and realizing that daemon. This, in fact, was their definition of happiness! In the ancient and sacred traditions of true astrology, it was claimed that harmony and happiness could only be realized by understanding, living, and embodying one's "archetype", which is another word for our daemon. The spiritual tradition has always claimed that a human being is born twice: once on earth in his body and personality, and once in heaven, in his soul and spirit. These constitute what could rightly be called our "lower" and our "higher" self. To discover that "higher self" and to consciously unite it with our "lower self" is, in fact, the purpose of all human experience and evolution; that is also why Socrates claimed that he "knew nothing" and that whatever he did right and which brought him true happiness was done by his daemon.

 Every person who is born in this world has come here to live and do certain things. Everyone, in other words, has a destiny and a calling, or a "mission". True happiness can only come from knowing and, more important, from realizing that destiny. This is the only true "end", all the rest is merely a "means" to that end. Thus, if a person does not fulfill what his soul, or higher self, has come to do in this world, he will always remain frustrated, unfulfilled, tormented, bored, or "incomplete", regardless of how much knowledge, love, power, position, family, or friends he has.

 To be able to identify and point out a person's "genius", daemon, or true gifts and calling is truly to unify that person's unconscious and thus to harness all the forces and potentialities of the universe. This is also a most powerful medicine or "remedy" that can heal the most dangerous and devastating physical, psychological, and spiritual illnesses. This because, it can truly harmonize, at least temporarily, the three essential aspects of our nature -- the physical, the human, and the spiritual-- and thus enable our soul to accomplish what is has come to do in this world. For that purpose, all the forces of the universe and of one's nature will cooperate and give the best of themselves. God, in other words, will truly "be with us" and help us as we are trying to fulfill His will and plan.

•  Doing something with one's whole being and not just with a part of one's being.
• Truly loving and doing well, and being appreciated by others, for what one is doing.
• Forgetting time and feeling both vivified and inspired.
• Obtaining intrinsic rewards from what one is doing to the point that one would continue doing it without pay!

 If you discover your genius, your daemon, then you truly want to do what it tells you, to express it, to be creative, and to live fully. Hence, to help another human being come to that realization is truly the greatest service and accomplishment a therapist or a manager can aspire to. The people and the community he or she works for will recognize this and greatly prize that person. Our wish, at Global Health Centers, is that you may become that person!
